Helpful Tips for Entrepreneurs

If you are an entrepreneur who wishes to live in Florida legally, bring your family and generate the necessary income to survive, you would have to meet two basic requirements:

  1. Get the US visa
  2. Buy a business.

Investor Visas

E-2 Visa

The E2 visa category favors nationals of countries that have signed bilateral investment treaties with the US To obtain the E2 visa and keep it in force, the beneficiary must invest in a company and be in charge of its operations. Although the regulation deals with "a substantial investment", the practice indicates that the minimum investment amount in a company could be over $100,000.
The E2 visa does not lead to permanent residence (Green Card) but can be renewed as long as the beneficiary is operating the business satisfactorily. Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 of an E2 visa beneficiary can obtain the same status if they appear accompanying the petitioner.
People who can apply for the E2 visa must be nationals of the following countries that have signed investment agreements with the US.

EB5 visa

The EB5 employment-based immigrant visa category favors individuals who wish to permanently reside in the United States with the intent to create and develop a business enterprise that creates at least 10 new jobs.
The EB5 visa grants conditional residency for two years to people who invest over $1,8 million in normal areas or over $900.000 in areas with high levels of unemployment (Targeted Employment Areas-TEA). After two years, the beneficiary may apply for permanent residence (green card) which expires every ten years. Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 of an EB5 visa beneficiary can obtain the same status if they appear accompanying the petitioner.
To advance in the plans to obtain the visa, it is advisable to hire the services of an American immigration lawyer with good references. Balance professional fees in advance and check if the first consultation is free.
