Crystal Cruises cruise ship remains anchored in the Bahamas
This Sunday it was reported that the Crystal Cruises shipping company cruise ship was still anchored in the Bahamas, after a legal dispute that began last Wednesday. This was reported by the journalist Lidya Macondo from the web portal https://travelnoire.com/.
The vessel, which had 300 passengers plus the tribulation on board, was forced to divert its route to Port Miami after the lawsuit filed by the company Peninsula Petroleum Far East against the shipping company.
The lawsuit was filed because Crystal Cruises has a number of unpaid bills, which must be resolved before continuing operations.
Crystal Cruises owes more than $4 million in bills
The lawsuit filed by the oil company indicates that the shipping company owes more than $4,6 million in unpaid bills, of which $1,2 million is specifically for Crystal Symphony.
For this reason, a judge issued an arrest warrant for the boat before its arrival in Miami, with the plan that the boat be seized by a US marshal.
Great, if unsettling scoop from @cruiseapalooza in @TravelPulse: Suspended from operations, @CrystalCruises was not allowed to disembark its Serenity passengers yesterday as scheduled. What do you give, #Aruba? @cruisewhisperer https://t.co/Qg0ejeKAin

And everything seems to indicate that the ship will remain anchored on the Caribbean island because the parent company of the cruise has a resort and a marina.
Passengers were returned to Miami this Sunday
After the incident, some 300 passengers were transferred this Sunday by ferry from Bimini, Bahamas, to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Crystal Cruises reported that they will suspend the operations of their maritime trips until the end of April and their river cruises until May.
"The suspension of operations will provide Crystal's management team with an opportunity to assess the current state of the business and examine various options moving forward," the cruise line said in a statement.
