Because the Colombian government reported that it had detected the fungus Fusarium Foc R4T on four farms Guajira, Corbana decided to hold a workshop with specialists from different banana producing countries around the world to create strategies and prevent this plague from spreading.

For his part, the manager of Corbana, Jorge Sauma, asserted, "The Fusarium is a common enemy, we can only defeat it with the effort of all together, that is, with a common alliance." He also suggested that it should organizing a summit of banana producing countries in Latin America, as was done previously.

Likewise, Saume asked International organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), the World Banana Forum, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Ministries of Agriculture of the countries and the companies supplying inputs, which unite to find a solution to the problem of the fungus and increase the funds directed to researching this disease.

El Fusarium Foc R4T It is one of the most terrible diseases that can affect bananas and plantains, since it wilts them and they cannot be eaten.
