“Five years ago, Habitat Group had a mission to develop urban areas in Miamisaid Santiago Vanegas, founder, CEO and president of Habitat Group. “Today we are in full build mode and our vision is more concrete than ever. We are very focused on the development of West Brickell and we believe that we will have a social impact in the community. I have faith that our new Dream Team has what it takes to take us to the next level."

Habitat Group's development entity encompasses expertise in building and remodeling properties, allowing the company to ensure the success of each project. This entity is led by the Director of Development Valentina Pérez-Cea, who joins the team with 18 years of professional practice in the design and construction industry. Valentina plays a key role in the development of a wide variety of projects in Miami and works closely with numerous architects, contractors, and interior designers. She is joined by Owner Representative Gian-Marcel Adreani, who brings his unparalleled expertise through his diverse experiences working as a subcontractor, general contractor, and owner representative for several high-profile projects throughout South Florida. He will be supported by two new Project Managers, José R. Montes and Juan García.

Judith Mercado, a Miami native, is the director of marketing for Habitat Group. Using her knowledge of the South Florida market to increase Habitat Group's visibility, she is joined by new director of sales, Ana Maria Velez. New to the team, Ana is also an investment partner with Habitat Group and has over 20 years of experience in the Miami market.

“It is an honor to lead inside sales initiatives for projects that are truly changing the landscape and culture of Brickell,” said Ana Maria Vélez. “Habitat has created progressive residences in incredible locations. I look forward to working with this team to help more buyers find their next home or investment property."

CFO Ileana Alvarado leads Habitat Group's finance team. Along with Controller of Accounts Margarita Chona and Financial Analyst Antonio Fernández, the team establishes Habitat Group's financial strategy for long-term profitable growth. Before joining Habitat Group, Ileana was a private wealth associate at Merrill Lynch, a portfolio manager at Davivienda, and a financial advisor at Ultralat Capital Markets. Her experience has given her extensive knowledge in all sectors of the financial industry, including banking, stocks and bonds, wealth management, and real estate.

Over the past year, Habitat Group has experienced exponential success in the South Florida market. Founded by Santiago Vanegas in 2005, the real estate and asset management company has continued to expand its portfolio to include the launch of several projects in West Brickell, including the launch of the Milux Hotel, a two-hotel project with 114 hotel rooms, and Brickell Lux, a mixed-use hotel and residential project with 60 hotel rooms, 108 condominiums and 12,000 square feet of retail space. Both projects will be located within two to three blocks of Smart Brickell, a three-tower project offering short-term rental and lease options with a hotel component. Most recently, Habitat Group launched a fourth project in West Brickell, a 96-room hotel called Brickell 12. The developer will also soon launch a multi-family building, East River Living, due for delivery in the third quarter of 2020 in East Little Havana.
