Best Cars of the Year 2022 according to Consumer Reports
When you're looking for the perfect car for you and your family, there's an overwhelming selection to choose from. Consumer Reports revealed its top 10 picks for 2022, including SUVs and trucks that its experts highly recommend.
The choices were based on several categories, including reliability and performance.
"Vehicles must have key safety features such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection standard," according to Jon Linkov of Consumer Reports.

This is the list of selected cars:
Less than $25,000
–Small car: Nissan Sentra
–Subcompact SUV: Nissan Rogue Sport
Sentra and Rogue Sport come standard with the latest safety features. “Both vehicles have been very reliable,” Linkov said.
Between $25,000 and $35,000
–Small SUV: Subaru Forester
–Midsize sedan: Honda Accord
–Hybrid: Toyota Prius and Prius Prime
The Subaru Forester is on the Consumer Reports list for the ninth year, and the Toyota Prius is one of the best perennial options.
Between $35,000 and $45,000
–Compact pickup truck: Honda Ridgeline
–Two-row SUV: Toyota RAV4 Prime
–Midsize three-row SUV: Kia Telluride
The KIA Telluride is a top choice for the third year in a row. It received a near perfect score on the road test.
“It has had high owner satisfaction based on our annual car survey,” Linkov said.
Between $45,000 and more
–Luxury midsize SUV: Lexus RX
–Electric vehicle: Ford Mustang Mach-E
The Mustang Mach-E is part SUV, part sports car, and fully electric.
“It has a range of between 270 and more than 300 miles, depending on the version,” Linkov said.
The Mach-E also does well in road and safety tests, according to Linkov.
“All of that really comes together in a very impressive first-year electric vehicle,” he said.
