La American Automobile Association (AAA) recommends that all drivers fill your gas tanks -for Thanksgiving trips- before prices go up.

MiamiDiario Newsroom

The prediction that AAA has is that gasoline prices will increase by the end of the week, just before the exodus of people who will travel for Thanksgiving, reported floridapolitics.com.

Last Monday, the gasoline prices remained fairly stable, similar to last week, decreased a penny on average to $2.36 per gallon.

But there may be a rise in the next few days, 5 to 10 cents per gallon based on recent increases in wholesale gasoline prices, AAA said.

AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said, "Even if gas prices rise this week, a 10- to XNUMX-cent hike isn't likely to cause Floridians to cancel their travel plans."

Comparing Thanksgiving season prices to 2018, Jenkins noted, "If the state average returns to $2.45 per gallon, it would be the same price what motorists paid during the holidays from last year. Plus, it's about the same price Floridians paid a month ago. However, if the state average remains below $2.45, Florida Thanksgiving travelers would be paying the lowest gas prices for this holiday period in three years."

According to AAA estimates, more than 55 million Americans plan to travel 50 miles or more by Thanksgiving. Almost 2.9 million of them are residents of the state of Florida.
