The Argentine government recently launched the “Estudiá en Argentina” program and the “Campus Global” scholarship access platform, as part of an initiative to attract foreign students to that country and offer academic opportunities around the world.

"Study in Argentina" aims to improve the experience of international students who choose Argentina to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate careers in subjects as varied as business, technology and social sciences, or to carry out research.

"Global Campus” is an online platform that provides access to a set of scholarships for students interested in finding educational opportunities in countries such as Argentina, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Mexico, Italy, China and Japan, among others.

American students studying in Argentina also have the opportunity to earn credits for their studies in that country. For example, The Universidad de San Andrés has an alliance with the University of Maryland College Park, the University of Michigan, and the University of Texas, among others. Students study subjects such as Administration, Economics, Law, Argentine History and Spanish.

In addition, universities such as Di Tella have bilateral exchanges with universities such as the University of California- Los Angeles and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. And the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA) has bilateral collaboration agreements with several universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, to receive students of Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanics and Electronics, among others.

One of the beneficiaries is Leonardo Daniel, a Mexican student who studied his master's degree in political science and psychology at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso) in Buenos Aires. Daniel says that he "would recommend this experience because it has not only been coming to learn academic knowledge but also cultural knowledge, seeing an extremely enriching country."

Through Campus Global, students can also find scholarships in other countries. Among these, the Santander Foundation currently offers scholarships for postgraduate students at Oxford, in England.

The platform makes available to foreign students in a single place all the information necessary to plan their academic choice, their trip and stay in Argentina. It also has a service area that collects data on immigration procedures, visas, title equivalencies, accommodation, medical insurance and security, among others.

More than 74,000 international students choose to study in Argentina each year, attracted by more than 12,000 high-quality programs offered by 130 academic institutions throughout the country. And 15 of the top 100 universities in Latin America are in Argentina, according to QS World University Rankings.

"Argentina has a good university system, which produces knowledge and that is why we want more young people to come to study in our country," says the national Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Alejandro Finocchiaro, adding: "We want to make the Argentina the university country par excellence in Latin America”.

For his part, Francisco Miguens, National Director of International Cooperation, expressed: “We hope that this comprehensive policy will attract benefits for our country, in terms of cultural diversification and direct and indirect economic impact”.
